10:30 AM, Welcome and chimichurri. Welcome to my home! We start by introducing ourselves and sharing what's in store for the day, with a drink of water or freshly squeezed lemonade. First we light the fire for the grill, then, with the help of a few volunteers, we prepare traditional chimichurri, Argentina's famous parsley-based sauce. Once that's underway, we head out for a relaxed walk through the neighborhood.

11:30 AM, The neighborhood. As we explore Palermo Viejo, you'll learn how Argentina's most dramatic financial crisis helped transform this once-sleepy, off-the-beaten-path neighborhood into one of the city's most creative and sought-after areas.

Plaza Inmigrantes de Armenia. From this central plaza, we discuss how the neighborhood evolved from gritty and overlooked to vibrant and desirable. We also touch on the neighborhood's role during Argentina's military dictatorship, and how those events still echo through the streets today.

The butcher shop. We stop at one of the neighborhood's most respected new butcher shops to pick up the final ingredient for our asado: blood sausage (morcilla), a traditional delicacy that only needs to be gently heated over the fire. It's the last piece we collect so that it's fresh and ready for the grillmaster to start cooking before we arrive back at the house. The shop is surrounded by striking street art and sits just across from an organic, city-run vegetable garden, a small symbol of the area's revival and creativity.

The wine shop. On our way to the wine shop, we pause to admire more murals and paste-ups and learn about the artists behind them. At the boutique wine store, we taste wine paired with local cheeses, just the way locals kick off a proper gathering.

1:30 PM, Picada. Back at the house, the fire is glowing and the grillmaster has already begun working. You'll be greeted by the aromas of meats slowly cooking over wood and charcoal, including the blood sausage we picked up moments ago. We ease into the meal with a traditional Argentine picada of dried and cured meats, aged cheeses, and pickles, and a classic Fernandito cocktail, while we talk about Italy's influence on local culture.

2:15 PM, The asado. We watch the grillmaster at work and enjoy each course as it comes off the parrilla: pork sausage, blood sausage, sweetbreads, pork flank steak, and strip steak, served family-style with charred vegetables and salad. We typically serve two different Argentine wines with the meal. Malbec takes the spotlight, and we also introduce you to Torrontés, Argentina's signature white, a beautiful contrast and a chance to explore the deeper story of Argentine wine.

3:30 PM, Dessert, mate, and goodbye. We finish with grilled yams with caramelized pecans and vanilla ice cream, and then share one last Argentine tradition: mate. This herbal tea ritual dates back to the indigenous communities who lived on this land long before Europeans arrived. It's more than a drink. It's a moment of sharing, reflection, and connection, and the perfect way to say goodbye as friends rather than strangers.

We do not offer pick-up service by default, as most guests prefer to arrive directly at our meeting point in Palermo Viejo. However, if you’d like to reserve private transportation with one of our trusted bilingual drivers, we’re happy to arrange it in advance for an additional cost.

Arrival Tip: Look for a large white garage door with a small round ADT security sticker. The entrance is the smaller white door set into the garage door, and it has a round doorknob. The doorbell is a beige square panel on the wall, immediately to the right of the door. Ring the bell and we’ll be right there to welcome you.

We do not include drop-off service as part of the experience, as many guests prefer to explore the neighborhood a little more and walk off some of the delicious food they've just enjoyed. However, if you'd prefer a ride back to your hotel or another destination, we’re happy to help arrange transportation for you.

If you’d like to reserve private door-to-door service (including both pick-up and drop-off), we can arrange that with one of our trusted bilingual drivers for an additional cost. Please inquire when booking to check availability and receive a rate quote.

Alternatively, we can also help you organize a taxi or Uber for your return trip, or provide local recommendations for places to continue your exploration.

We’ll be walking a little, so please dress comfortably and according to the weather. Be sure to wear comfy shoes for walking, as we’ll be exploring the neighborhood along the way.

And, of course, don’t forget to bring your appetite. You’ll need it!

Please arrive at my home at the start time. It’s best to be punctual, as we’ll be preparing for your arrival and want to start the experience as smoothly as possible. If you happen to arrive early, feel free to visit my favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood, Cuervo Cafe. It’s just a short walk away and a perfect spot to enjoy a great coffee while we finish getting ready for you.

We understand that plans can change, but because we begin preparing for your Asado experience well in advance, our cancellation policy is as follows:

• Full refund with 7 or more days' notice
• 50% refund with 3 to 6 days' notice
• No refund within 72 hours, unless you contact us because of a canceled or delayed flight or cruise

If you need to change your plans because of unexpected travel disruptions, please contact us as soon as possible. We're happy to help with rescheduling, subject to guide availability.
